htaccess rule to parse php in html files not working

问题 can't for the life of me work out why this isn't working - on a dreamhost server, I've created an htaccess file and added AddHandler php5-cgi .html .htm to allow php in html files, as per the dreamhost docs. On an identical dreamhost package, I've done the same thing for another site and it worked perfectly, but in this case it just won't parse the php! 问题 I'm currently on Dreamhost attempting to run a Rails 2.3.5 app. Here is the situation, Dreamhost's servers have Rails 2.2.2 installed. Of course, I can't update a shared host's rails version, so I froze my Rails in vendor. Rails 2.3.5 requires the rack v1.0.1 gem. Dreamhost uses the rack v1.0.0 gem. I'm having problems with gmail smtp server. I already read many posts here in StackOverflow about that subject. The best post I found about test the connection is this one . Although it is very well explained the error I'm getting I couldn't find a answer: Google SMTP just says "Please log in via your web browser and then try again". I'm completely sure that the password and the email (both in base64) are well encoded.
