In the desktop Mac world, if I were to click on a link in a web page which linked to a VCF file, this file would be opened in the Address Book application. In the iPhone world, however, doing that results in the message "Download failed. Safari cannot download this file" being displayed. So, my question is, is it actually possible to add a contact to your iPhone's Address Book from a web page? I have both the original VCF file and an hCard microformatted version of the data available to me, so the solution does not have to be tied to downloading the original file - I'm able to reprocess the

I'm utilising the AddressBook.framework in my iPhone app, and I'd like to replicate something along the lines of the share feature in Contacts.app. This basically attach's a specific contacts vCard to an email. As far as I know, there is nothing in the documentation that mentions generating a vCard. Is this a case of generating one myself? Or is there something available that can help me? Totally agree with Dave DeLong's answer. Just want to add that since I simply wanted to create a vCard file (.vcf) and attach it to an in-app email action what I did was create a string, then a temporary file

问题 I'm trying to generate a VCard via PHP, and them email it out to the user. I wrote an initial script with hard-coded data, but the end-result will fill in the VCard from MySQL. When viewing the VCard side-by-side with a legitimate VCard (downloaded and tested from another site) they look pretty much identical, but when I try and import my generated VCard it shows up with no data. Actually, if I open it on my phone, it doesn't even recognize that it is a vcard, and instead just sends me to a

问题 i'm wondering if there's a clean way to import a vcard as an android contact. i have a vcard parser, but mapping each possible vcard field and field type is going to be a painful, bug-prone exercise. is there a better way? an android contact looks suspiciously like a vcard, so i suspect they use vcards internally. there's no public API for this however. 回答1: an android contact looks suspiciously like a vcard, so i suspect they use vcards internally. 问题 I'm trying to add a vCard from a web link to the user's contact list on Android 2.2. When I direct the user to .vcf file, all I get is text output in the mobile browser. I have confirmed that the files is being transferred with MIME type text/v-card. This seems like it should be pretty simple to do. Any ideas? 回答1: AFAIK Android doesn't support vCard files out of the Box at least not until 2.2. You could use the app vCardIO to read vcf files from your SD card and save to you contacts. So you
