问题 I'm writing an command-line application which listens for Control key release events in X Windows and alerts another process when it detects them. Being new to GNU/Linux, I'd prefer avoiding to fumble with GCC and therefore I'm looking for a scripting-based solution. Since I know a bit of Python, it seemed natural to go for a Python-based solution, and after scavenging the Internet for examples and reading Python Xlib docs, I've put together this programs which works, but with a caveat: it

Requirements: When the user presses some key I want to know what key is that; When the user releases some key, I want to know what key is that; I want to ignore the system auto repeat options: I want to receive just one keypress event for each key press and just one key release event for each key release; If possible, I would use items 1 to 3 to know if the user is holding more than

My problem is that when I create an ArrayList of keypresses they are not removed fast enough via the keyReleased event if the user holds down the keys. I want movement to be with "asdf" and North, East, South, West, NorthEast... etc. Here is my code for both events: @Override public void keyPressed(KeyEvent e) { if(chatTextField
