I created a simple android project in Android Studio using navigation type Tabs + Viewpager. The code compiles and runs OK. But after i included android annotations, i get a null pointer exception for the viewPager object.
The Code is as follows:
MainActivity.java;
package com.example.tabnanot;
import java.util.Locale;
import android.support.v7.app.ActionBarActivity;
import android.support.v7.app.ActionBar;
import android.support.v4.app.Fragment;
import android.support.v4.app.FragmentManager;
import android.support.v4.app.FragmentTransaction;
import android.support.v4.app.FragmentPagerAdapter;
import android.os.Bundle;
import android.support.v4.view.ViewPager;
import android.view.Gravity;
import android.view.LayoutInflater;
import android.view.Menu;
import android.view.MenuItem;
import android.view.View;
import android.view.ViewGroup;
import android.widget.TextView;
import com.googlecode.androidannotations.annotations.EActivity;
@EActivity(R.layout.activity_main)
public class MainActivity extends ActionBarActivity implements ActionBar.TabListener {
/**
* The {@link android.support.v4.view.PagerAdapter} that will provide
* fragments for each of the sections. We use a
* {@link FragmentPagerAdapter} derivative, which will keep every
* loaded fragment in memory. If this becomes too memory intensive, it
* may be best to switch to a
* {@link android.support.v4.app.FragmentStatePagerAdapter}.
*/
SectionsPagerAdapter mSectionsPagerAdapter;
/**
* The {@link ViewPager} that will host the section contents.
*/
ViewPager mViewPager;
@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
// setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
// Set up the action bar.
final ActionBar actionBar = getSupportActionBar();
actionBar.setNavigationMode(ActionBar.NAVIGATION_MODE_TABS);
// Create the adapter that will return a fragment for each of the three
// primary sections of the activity.
mSectionsPagerAdapter = new SectionsPagerAdapter(getSupportFragmentManager());
// Set up the ViewPager with the sections adapter.
mViewPager = (ViewPager) findViewById(R.id.pager);
mViewPager.setAdapter(mSectionsPagerAdapter); // This is where the null pointer occurs
// When swiping between different sections, select the corresponding
// tab. We can also use ActionBar.Tab#select() to do this if we have
// a reference to the Tab.
mViewPager.setOnPageChangeListener(new ViewPager.SimpleOnPageChangeListener() {
@Override
public void onPageSelected(int position) {
actionBar.setSelectedNavigationItem(position);
}
});
// For each of the sections in the app, add a tab to the action bar.
for (int i = 0; i < mSectionsPagerAdapter.getCount(); i++) {

// the adapter. Also specify this Activity object, which implements
// the TabListener interface, as the callback (listener) for when
// this tab is selected.

I tried debugging and realised that the view pager object is null. I don't know what's causing this. I added the android annotations jars to a libs folder and marked the generated sources as source root.
NB: I can successfully normal projects (i.e, those with navigation type none) using annotations but it fails for the tabs thing Any help will be deeply appreciated. Thanks all.
EDIT:: when i look into the generated MainActivity_.java I see this line
setContentView(layout.activity_main);
I think it should be
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
I'm not sure though
回答1:
If you add a layout to the class declaration, you shouldn't reference views in onCreate. Instead, you should inject the views with @ViewById and use them in a separate method with @AfterViews. More on that here:
https://github.com/excilys/androidannotations/wiki/Injecting-Views
回答2:
Yes exactly agree with above answer there are 2 ways to use the views
1.) if you use ...
@EActivity(R.layout.activity_main)
....
you have to use @AfterViews ...
and
2.) if you want to use @Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState)
.. you have to use setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
-Above are the combinations which should be used together always for proper code usage
_Thanks !~!
