问题 I read everything about the upgrade process from TFS 2008 to 2012. but my situation is a bit diffrent. I need to move data from tfs 2008 (sqlserver 2003) to tfs 2012 (sqlserver 2008 R2) without damaging the TFS 2012 data. what is the best practice? Adding some issues: I am trying to be as cautious as possible without damaging any of the data. So I have: 1. old server TFS 2008 with sqlserver 2005 which is being used 2 demo server with TFS 2012 and sqlserver 2008 R2 with some collections and

I deleted some files and some folders in TFS. Many check in's later I found out that I need the deleted functionality back in my project. How can I restore the deleted files and folders? In Team Explorer (in Visual Studio): Tools | Options | Source Control | Visual Studio Team Foundation Server and select Show Deleted Items... Then in source control explorer you'll see the items greyed out. You can right click on them and Undelete. (This option will only be available if they, after the undelete, will be included in your current workspace). NB. in newer versions of Visual Studio (eg. 2013)

I get this error message in a Reporting Services solution in Visual Studio 2010 [we're using TFS for source control]: There appears to be a discrepancy between the solution's source control information about some project(s) and the information in the project file(s). To resolve this discrepancy it will be necessary to check out the project file(s) and update them. If the check out fails, however, and the solution is closed without saving, you will see this warning again the next time you open the solution. Only some projects get checked out but others seem OK. So here is what I tried: I tried

Does TFS have anything like CCTray for Build Notifications?

问题 For Cruise Control, I have CCTray that sits in my taskbar and lets me know if builds are happening or builds are breaking. Does TFS have anything like this? 回答1: Or Start -> All Programs -> Visual Studio 2010 -> Team Foundation Server Tools -> Build Notifications Personally, I find the Build Notifications app to be pretty terrible. It is slow for one. I find it better to just create email alerts whenever anything happens with a build. They are much more real time. Edit : I just noticed you

As the resident TFS admin, on occasion I am asked to undo a checkout (usually a lock) that a user has on a certain file. This can be done via the command line using the TF.exe utility's Undo command (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/c72skhw4.aspx ), but that's kind of a pain.
