Empty string comparison to zero gives different result in PHP 8 than in previous versions

Question

This code gives a different result in PHP 8 than in all previous versions of PHP:

if (\'\' == 0)
  echo \'PHP \'.phpversion().\' says yes\';
else
  echo \'PHP \'.
