Is there a better way to handle PostgreSQL Hstore in Spark/AWS-Glue using Python

Question

I am using AWS Glue to perform ETL on data stored in PostgreSQL with a number of dynamic Hstore fields. I need to perform operations using some of the fields in the Hstores.
