Minikube - Not able to get any result from elastic search to if it uses existing indices

Solution in HostPath with minikube - Kubernetes worked for me. To mount a local directory into a pod in minikube (version - v1.9.2), you have to mount that local directory into minikube then use minikube mounted path in hostpath (https://minikube.sigs.k8s.io/docs/handbook/mount/).

 minikube mount ~/esData:/indexdata
