How to stop Spring's default output?

I am new to Spring. When I run a Spring batch application, I expect to see only \"Hello World!\", but instead, I get the following additional details -

You can switch to Log4J logging and set the log level to ERROR or FATAL. That way you deactivate all non-error logging.

But Dave Newton is right: it does sound like a bad idea.
