Root certificate sent over a request doesn't get sent through returning, SSL/TLS secure channel issue - Two way SSL failing

Question

We are trying to make an API call to a end point and make a two way SSL Authentication. We are sending the Root certificate in the request by selecting it using the thumbprint.
