Cannot create a broker-to-broker connection between ActiveMQ and Amazon MQ

I have a local instance of ActiveMQ v5.15.12 running on my machine, and I have another instance running on AWS as Amazon MQ (managed broker service also running ActiveMQ v5.15.1
