Problems getting Fragment in AndroidStudio 4.1.1 wizard to compile “error: incompatible types: Class cannot be converted to Fragment”

There are similar questions with the confusion over android.app.Fragment vs v4\'s Fragment that date back to 2014. I\'m using AndroidX and Android Studio 4.1.1 so I don\'t w
