How to run Python 3.8 Gunicorn Flask Application in background thread

I am running a Python 3.8 Flask application using a Gunicorn 20 \'BaseApplication\' behind an NGINX reverse proxy on Linux. Furthermore, I am using a DispatcherMiddleware in
