How can I adjust space between groups of bars AND the width of the bars AND stitch two of these together in ggplot2 with some funky code?

Here are my wonderful graphs, which Allen Cameron and others helped with.

What I want to do is to keep the space between BARS the same, but DECREASE space between GROUP
