Why does mock.patch('some.import.path') exhibit inconsistent behavior with relative vs. absolute imports?

Does anyone have any idea why mocker.patch(\'some.relative.import\') works when mocker.patch(\'some.absolute.import\') doesn\'t, but only in some scena
