Is it possible to convert from RGB to CMYK using Ghostscript 9 and have grays be black channel instead of color channels?

We are generating PDF:s from Chromium automatically and then use Ghostscript 9.53.3 to convert them to CMYK because the printer wants CMYK. However, the color rgb(185,185,185) g
