Cannot retrieve log groups in CloudWatch with AWS CloudWatch EC2 linux

Question

I have been trying to retrieve a log file i created in a directory to Cloud Watch: /home/sampleFolder/sampleLogs.log

Despite different methods on installing cloud watch a
