Any way to not allow/restrict the select queries on writer instance in an Aurora cluster from spring-boot application with MariaDB Connector/J?

We have an Aurora (MySQL) RDS cluster with 1 writer instance and multiple auto-scaled reader instances and are using mariadb-java-client 2.1.2 to connect from our s
