As per the docs, remember to call super

- (void)viewWillTransitionToSize:(CGSize)size
       withTransitionCoordinator:(id)coordinator {
    [super viewWillTransitionToSize:size withTransitionCoordinator:coordinator];

    // ...
}

Otherwise child view controllers will not get the message forwarded on to them.
