JTextField limit input to certains chars only

Try a JFormattedTextField and use

MaskFormatter mf = new MaskFormatter();
mf.setValidCharacters("abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyzABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVXYWZZ0123456789+&@#/%?=~_-|!:,.;");
JFormattedTextField textField = new JFormattedTextField(mf);
