I think you need to stud the Meteor.user() method, try this:

import { sinon } from 'meteor/practicalmeteor:sinon';

  beforeEach(() => {
    resetDatabase();

You need to add these packages: dburles:factory, xolvio:cleaner, practicalmeteor:sinon
