adb doesn't show nexus 5 device

I have been using my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 runn

In my case:

• The phone was connected as a media device.
• Clicked on that message and got a menu. "USB computer connection"
• In that menu chose to connect it as a camera (for devices that do not support MTP)

And then it worked.
