HttpPost with StringEntity having special characters like ®, seeing ¿½` instead of ®

I need to use special characters for stringentity as below.

DefaultHttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient();
HttpPost httpPost = new HttpPost

    HttpEntity entity = new StringEntity("test®", "UTF-8");
