Why do fonts appear jagged in Chrome?

My fonts seem to appear really jagged and and hard to read in chrome, how can I make them appear smooth? They didn\'t used to be like this.

The solution that worked for me was

1. Visit URL chrome://flags/
2. Enable "Disable accelerated 2D Canvas"
3. relaunch
